Hello, I would love if someone with some knowledge on this issue could chime in on an issue I am having, it would be greatly appreciated. So I am currently active duty Air Force with 2 years of college under me. I attended community college and then transferred to a 4 year college without obtaining an associates degree. Long story short, I stopped school and joined the Air Force. It is my last year in the military and I am looking forward to beginning college course work again in a new state/new school. I called the last college I went to and asked them to send me my transcripts from their school, as well as the ones from the community college which I had to send to them before I was admitted. They informed me that they had the transcripts from the community college that I had sent, but cannot send them. Is this a legal thing? Is it illegal for them to send me everything that I paid for, and sent them before being accepted? Any help would be huge. Thanks!
No, you can’t ask College 2 to send both their original and a copy of the transcript from College 1. You need to contact each place where you have studied, and request that each of them send an official original transcript.
Yup. You have to pay for those originals to be sent out every single time you apply for admission to a degree program and every single time that you apply for a job that needs all of your transcripts. It is a total pain, but it is the rules.
