I am planning to transfer to UCR in Fall 2018.
I had a few questions about the transfer program.
How is transfer life at UCR? If I take 15-20 Units per semester, will I graduate in 2 years time? Are my chances for medical school decreased because I am a transfer? Is a 30 minute commute tough at a college like UCR? What are some ways you can make friends at UCR as a transfer and commuter? Is the Biology major difficult, and if so, what are some ways you can ease the workload?
Thanks for answering.
The 30 minute commute should be fine. While I was going to community college, the commute was around 1 hour in the mornings, and 2 hours in the afternoons. Just make sure you get your stuff ready the night before, and give yourself plenty of time before class.
I transferred to UCR and I’ve absolutely loved it. Try taking between 12-15 units the first quarter if you are coming from a semester system. The quarter system is very accelerated but I love it. As a commuter you have the commuter lounge. It has seats and a microwave. Join a few clubs you’ll make many friends on the same boat as you.
