Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about my chances at transferring into any of the following schools,
- Boston University (1st choice)
- Northeastern University
- Fordham University
-Cornell University
- Brown university
- Bowdoin college
- Vanderbilt University
- Georgetown university
- Yale University (Academically and statistically probably unrealistic but I’m originally from New Haven and have a very compelling reason for wanting to transfer to Yale and that is the premise of their essay question which Admissions says is one of the biggest factors in transfer acceptance)
I am a biology major, my first semester I received an
A- in Intro to Cellular and Molecular Bio W/Lab
A in Comparative Global Politics
A in 1st year writing ( I got a 100% but my college doesn’t award A+)
B in Chemical principles I W/Lab
for a GPA of 3.66 1st semester with pretty rigorous courses
My high school weighted GPA 3.83/4
I got a 780/800 on Bio SAT subject test
I got a 1700/2400 on SATs the sole time I took them in high school but am planning on taking them again.
I speak Mandarin Chinese
I have strong EC’s. I have also developed a close relationship with 2 of my professors who would happily write recommendation letters.
I was wondering if I have any chance at transferring to any of the higher tear schools or should I stick to just applying to BU, NEU and Fordham. Which are all great schools and I would be totally fine with! Also do you think I am a competitive candidate for transferring into those three schools? Lastly if anyone who attends any of these schools has a minute to tell me a little bit about the atmosphere of the school specifically how friendly they find the student body to be, how difficult and worthwhile they find the academics to be, and how much they have enjoyed their time at college I would really appreciate it.
Thanks so much!
