Transfering from NVCC... non-western pers??

hey..
im planning to get in next fall under guaranteed admission and i still need to fulfill the non-western perspective and fine arts credits..

i looked up classes at nova for non-western perspective, and all i could really find was history (ex.. african history)
are there any classes that you know of that fulfill this requirement that are not history (or music like history of jazz) because i really dont want to take those if i dont have to.

also, for fine arts it says this on the requirements page

ANTH 2370

Art History (ARTH)

Studio Art (ARTS; not ARTS 2070)

Drama (DRAM)

Music (MUSI ONLY)

(MUBN, MUEN AND MUPF courses do NOT fill this requirement)

MDST 2000, 3050, 3100

Architectural History (AR H) 1000, 1010, 1020, 1700, 2400, 3102, 3701, 3201 and 3203

Architecture (ARCH) 1010 (only 3-6 credit courses are accepted).

so does "ART 121 - Drawing I" not count towards fine arts?

thnx

using [Transfer Credit Analyzer](http://www.web.virginia.edu/analyzer/Default.aspx) it says (nvcc) ART 121 = (uva) ARTS 1000T
can’t help your nwp problem. but if you think about it, it’s going to have to be anthroplogy or history or something to teach you enough about a non-western perspective on something.

ahh… ok so im good with taking the drawing class  happy ^.^

now for non-western perspective… guess i should try to find an interesting history course.

thnx for the help :)

Here, check these NWP courses out - I scrolled through the transfer credit analyzer for ones that weren’t history:

ENG 253/254
HIS 125 (yeah, it’s history but it transfers as Anthropology)
PHI 260
REL 233
REL 298
SOC 211/212
SOC 266

I have no idea what any of these are but you can look them up on the NOVA catalogue and see if any interest you more than a straight up history course.

And, you actually don’t have to take any fine arts courses at all for your humanities requirement if you take literature + moral/philosophical/religious thought. You can mix and match any two of the three.

i looked through the catalog for the courses you mentioned…
i only had 2 options from the ones u specified because the rest were either full or not offered. I had to choose either introduction to islam (rel 233) and a course i found which was chinese history.
but i chose introduction to islam since it also counts to towards other requirements :)

Thanks a heap
i really appreciate your help
