Transfering harder?

Just looking at some data from collegeboard.com about georgetown's transfer rate.

Transfer Students
* Total number of transfer students who applied: 1,523
* Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 376

roughly 24.6%

thats pretty close to their first year student acceptance rate. i thought it was generally easier to apply as a transfer student?

that's actually a pretty good transfer stat for a school of that caliber

it also depends if you have applied before and what the result was...have you applied to georgetown before?

im planning on applying for my freshmen year, but if that doesnt work out i would still like to try and transfer...

I applied as a freshman and was rejected...does that seriously hinder my chances at being accepted as a transfer?

mohuonu,

it doesn't hinder your chances as a transfer. i was rejected as a freshman and then accepted as a transfer.

If anything Mohuohu it helps your case because it shows dedication and a desire to attend, especially if you hold a decent GPA at another institution.

How is transfer financial aid? Whats the average loan and grant amount for a middle-class income with an EFC of 1,000 or so?
