Hey! I'm a senior in high school trying to decide what college to attend! I got into Penn State but it's really expensive so I was considering going to Catholic University or George Mason University with the hope of being able to transfer to Georgetown in the future! Does anyone know if it's really hard to transfer into Georgetown?! I heard the average transfer GPA is only a 3.7. Thanks!

Georgetown has a 19 percent acceptance rate for transfers so it isn’t easy by any means but it isn’t insane like Yale either.

Thanks! Any other input?
And if I go into college knowing in the future I want to transfer do I need to notify them of this?

Are you a Virginia resident? Cause otherwise that would make no sense about the money issue. And Catholic is also in the same price range as out of state for Penn State, so I’m a little confused.
If your already planning on doing a year or two and then transferring, I would recommend going to a community college first. That’s what I’m doing right now. I just don’t see the point in paying all that money and then transfer, but that’s just me.
Georgetown with about 19% acceptance is by all means is still competitive for transfers.
Also take into consideration that financial aid is usually more limited to incoming transfers.
Just a couple of things to think about before making the decision.

Yeah I am a Virginia resident. I forgot to mention I got a $15,000 scholarship a year for catholic university. Sorry for the confusion! And I still want the college experience so I would want to go to a non community college and live on campus. And yeah that is true about the financial aid but if it’s Georgetown it is worth it in my opinion!

Yea and please chance me

Why don’t you look into UVA, W&M, or Virginia Tech?

Regarding financial aid, at least for my year, I got a lot of grant aid, so I don’t know if Georgetown is THAT bad with transfers or anything.

Oh ok! That’s good to know about the financial aid. And I’ve just always loved Georgetown so I’d prefer to go there! Plus it’s pretty close to where I live which is a plus for me!
