For the record, I will be attending/transferring to a state school (San Diego State University). I selected Accounting after taking intro to Financial and Managerial Accounting classes. I am taking both Macro and Micro Econ concurrently and I loathe them to the core though that might be my teachers fault as everyone hates his teaching style (all power-points, no actual teaching. Plus he talks in the Ben Stein mono-tone voice). Do you think I should be concerned about my ability or interest in upper division material for accounting?

Second question. I have to select a backup major on my transfer application. Being that it is a state school, I imagine Finance would be less that useless, for job hunting at least. Would I be safer taking Finance at SDSU or the other business emphasis of Information and Decision systems? I am interested in the two of them equally, but just wondering what the general consensus would be for a non-ranked college. It might be a non-issue as I am simply selecting a backup in case for some reason I cant get int Accounting.

Thank you for your input. Off to school for a Macroecon test.

sp1212, I said I loathe my Econ classes, I loved both my accounting ones. And yes, I am blaming my teacher. Same teacher for both classes and he literally doesn’t teach us anything. 20 minutes of the day is spent with him flirting with a girl I went to High School with and the rest of the time is split between whining about his Ratemyprofessor.com comments and skipping through power point slides faster than we can read them.

I suppose the fact that I am having to essentially teach myself Econ is beneficial since my studying capability has grown a lot this semester. Sorry my question was so vague, I was literally filling out my transfer admissions application and just got a bit nervous.

I take back my comment. I was in a bad mood all day anyway and not paying attention. However, it seems like you really like this girl from your high school. I think you kind of hate the fact that your teacher is “flirting” with her and so you overall hate him as a person and the subject he teaches. Thus making you loathe Econ in general.

LOLOLOLOL. I’m a member of a ton of forums, from bodybuilding.com to a mercedes owner forum to a corn snake forum and everything in between. This is hands down the most hostile forum I have ever seen. lol.
