I'm currently a sophomore about to apply for summer internships, and as the title implies, I went to a different school my freshman year and then transferred this year. I was just confused on how to list GPA cause I have seen so many different answers.

Also, some of the companies I'm applying for have a minimum GPA requirement of 3.00. My GPA at my current institution falls short of this unfortunately, but if I average it with my first school's GPA, it is more than enough. Would writing down one cumulative GPA suffice?

I would not average/combine the two GPAs. The company may ask for your transcripts later on and will be looking to verify the same number you listed.

I would put your higher GPA on your resume (across from earlier/correct school) and leave your current lower GPA off entirely.

If they ask about it, just tell them the truth, you just transferred to a new school, and took a couple hard classes last quarter/semester but are now doing fantastic in all your current classes :).

You never average GPAs. That’s fraud and companies will blacklist you for doing it. Two years of A’s at a community college followed by 2 years of C’s at UC Berkeley doesn’t make you a B student at UC Berkeley.

The correct way is to list each school separately with a separate GPA for that school. To determine if you meet their 3.0 cut off, companies will use your GPA at your current school (this creates an apples-to-apples comparison between you and others at your school in your major).
