Transferring abroad!

I am currently in my second year at a private Christian university in California and I am looking to transfer abroad to England (preferably OxBridge or London). I know it is possible, but I wanna know if anyone knows of any schools that they know accept transfers that they would recommend? Also, does anyone know any good programs for summer study abroad?

Any advice is appreciated:) thank you!

I might be totally wrong about this, but I don’t think Oxbridge accepts transfers. You could apply as an undergrad, though (most of their courses are only 3 years anyway). Keep in mind, the deadline to apply for entry in 2010 has already passed.

I’m relatively certain most universities in the UK (except maybe the Scottish ones) do not accept transfer students. From my understanding you have to apply as an undergrad, like FinalCut10 said. I’m not entirely sure though.

Oxbridge doesn’t accept transfers. You’d have to start again as a first year student. As FinalCut01 has said, the deadline for applications has already passed for 2010.

I am pretty certain that the major London universities (UCL, LSE, Imperial, Kings etc.) also do not accept transfers either.

Generally speaking, ‘transferring’ just isn’t done in the UK. You apply for a specific degree course at a specific university and complete it, drop out or switch to a different course within the same university. The idea of completing half your degree in one place and half in another is alien to the UK system.

Whoever told you it’s possible is wrong. It may be possible to spend a year abroad at a UK university however.
