I'm a sophomore at Columbia U. I'm generally happy with life here, but this past year I've become interested in a field of study with no corresponding major in the college. Yale, on the other hand, does have a department devoted to the area of study and offers a major, specialized seminars, etc. While I could petition for an independent major at Columbia, I'd still lack the support of a 'home department,' specialized upper-level classes, etc. There's no big push factor compelling me to leave Columbia, but rather a large academic pull factor at Yale. Do I have a shot a admission, and, in any case, do you think transferring would be wise? Any insight would be appreciated :)

Stats rundown:
College GPA: 3.93 (approx., as I still haven't received all my fall grades)
HS GPA: 3.85 (top 5%, exact rank n/a)
SAT: 2360
ACT: 35
solid ECs throughout
