Transferring from a CC?

Hello! I go to CC and I will probably get my AA Degree with a 3.8+ GPA. I have a Moroccan Mother and a German dad.

SAT: 1550
ACT: 28

My Highschool GPA is low (about 3.1 U/W) with a heavy course load (several AP Classes) but I'm hoping my College GPA will let them ignore that. I also have a full time job.

What should I improve on?
How far does having a full time job go?
Does my ethnicity help me?

Also in case I don't get in and have to go to Baruch College instead, what factors can help me get accepted into Columbia's MBA program by the time im 30? Thanks!

Oh and those of you who go to Columbia, is it worth it? I'd probably be atleast 50k in debt when I graduate but is it worth it?

It is more difficult to transfer into Columbia than to have applied as a HS Senior.

Typical transfer students to Columbia have stellar HS backgrounds – the sort of student that was admitted to several schools like Columbia. Frankly, your HS background makes your Columbia transfer chances near impossible.

I knew it would be a long shot but I’d like to know what I should work on to transfer in.

Your HS performance will be evaluated – it’s unavoidable. It’s water under the bridge. I’m sure there are many colleges that you’d flourish. A school with as stringent a transfer scenario as Columbia shouldn’t be on your list, IMHO.
