Transferring from a US Community College to UBC's faculty of science, engineering, or Sauder School

Hi everyone,

I am currently studying as an international student at a community college in Washington, and I am planning to transfer to UBC’s faculty of science, engineering, or Sauder School of Business (still deciding). I am currently finishing up my first year and have an average GPA of 4.0. I want to get into year 3 at UBC. One question I have is: should I pursue an associate degree at the CC, but doing so will result in not meeting some of the prerequisites for year 3 at UBC. If not meeting part of the prerequisite, will I still be considered to enter year 3 at UBC or will I have to spend three years, rather than two years, at UBC? I don’t want to spend an extra year for college… What should I do?

Thank you guys!!!

I guess my real question would be: what should I do to make sure I get into year 3 at UBC for either the CS program or Commerce program?

Contact the departments and admissions office at UBC, and ask. It really, truly, is OK for you to communicate directly woth them

@happymomo1 Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to ask if people had similar kind of experience here first, but I will call them soon.
