My current school just slashed my financial aid award by about half, so I am on the lookout for other options. I am an econ major and I would be transferring after my second year of college. I have been casting my net wide for other options, and I have been looking at some foreign schools, mainly top UK schools. I have done some research, and I realize that transferring into a UK school from a foreign school is a pretty rare event. I have already crossed LSE off my list, as they don't accept transfers into the econ program. So I am wondering: has anyone heard of someone transferring from an American university to a top UK school after already completing two years of college? And if so, what sort of hoops did they have to jump through to make that process happen?

Note: I would be applying to transfer into the second year of any three year degree program.
