Hi everyone,

I'm currently a sophomore at Boston University and I want to transfer to UMass Amherst for a number of reasons including not liking BU's atmosphere, financial problems, social problems, and academics. I started off at BU with the wrong foot, which led my grades to plummet and my motivation to succeed to dramatically decrease. I also feel very unhappy and lonely at BU, whereas if I transfer to UMass Amherst I would already have all my friends from high school and consequently be happier. My gpa is on the lower spectrum; I currently have two "W's" and a 2.37 gpa (which I expect and hope to bring up to at least a 2.7 by the end of the semester). I am also paying a lot to attend BU, and because I'm doing so poorly, I am basically throwing away my parents' money just to receive bad grades.

However, I fear that I will not even be able to transfer because of my poor academic record. If I receive at least a 2.7 by the end of this semester, hypothetically, will I the admissions office even consider my application? Will the two "W's" hold me back as well? I really don't know what to do at this point

Thanks!
