is it possible to graduate from a CC in 1 year with a rigorous course load? I want to transfer to UCLA Film.

Sure why not, although if by graduate you mean obtain an Associates degree.. that is impossible. But people go from a CC to UCLA all the time.

If you can do it, go for it. Otherwise, spread out your courses over a two year period.

thanks for the responses, I'm glade to see its possible. I know UCLA only accepts Junior level transfer, so i guess i gotta work my butt off with courses over the summer. Hopefully they will accept my A.P. scores

At my CC, one needs 61 (20 classes at 3 credits each and one phys ed) to obtain an associates degree. Two years of coursework is usually defined as 60 credits. If you want to be finished after the spring term for a fall transfer you could take 6 classes this summer, and 7 classes in the fall term and spring term, but that's crazy. Even in basic CC courses you'll be terribly overworked. I'd say just do the two years, it'll go by quicker than you think.

If you're dead set on it though, see if your school offers credit for interships or independant study. Those are usually good ways to get credit without having to spend every last hour at your community college.

But really, why don't you want to do two years?

UCLA will take your AP courses

You should note however that you want the HIGHEST Gpa possible and the BEST portfolio possible for UCLA Film- we are talking an acceptance rate of well under 10% (i think it is actually near 5%)

yes, i've already registered with Santa Monica College to start coursework over the summer. I don't really care about working day and night because i see this as my "punishment" for being foolish during the admissions process. If not UCLA then USC or LMU.
