I have a 4.0 HS GPA, i’m a senior, but unfortunately i have got really bad score on both the SAT and ACT. I wanted to go to a good business school but my standardized test scores screwed me up. I’ve decided to go to community college and get a second chance at getting into USC Marshall. I moved from England to California during my sophomore year so i’m not that much of an expert knowing about the transfer process yet. I looked at the pre-reqs but the formatting of the document confused me. SO, can anyone who was successful in transferring to Marshall share their stories and how they did it? What pre-reqs did you take? What GPA did you maintain? Please advice me!
Not having to have transferred to Marshall from cc, I believe you should work on getting a GPA at least in the 3.5 range. Marshall is competitive to get into and tuition is high. I assume you have the means to pay for the high costs. You should look at the Marshall’s website for required courses and call the admissions office at Marshall.
Except for the calculus, I think you can’t go wrong trying to get into Marshall if you follow the UC Berkeley Haas website course curriculum to get into Haas as a transfer student (check with Marshall admission first). Haas requires a full year (2 semesters) of calculus to get in, while the other prestigious business school in the West Coast, Marshall, UW’s Foster require 1 semester or 1 quarter or 2 quarters (UCLA’s business economics).
Alternatively, you have other options such as UCI, UCR business schools or UCLA, UCD, other UCs’ business economics. There also some of the CSUs and other private schools to consider.
UCB Haas, USC Marshall and UCLA’s business economics are the most prestigious in CA for business. University of Washington’s Foster is also prestigious. All these schools are competitive to get into.
