I'm slightly confused about the requirements for transferring from the College of Natural Sciences to Cockrell. Specifically, into Biomedical Engineering. If I ask to transfer at orientation, after meeting with an advisor/administrative staff, is the process immediate? Will our application be reevaluated?

Or do we just attend a transfer session at orientation, start the process there, and wait until the following year after completing 24 hours in residence?

My high school academic record is very strong (top 2%, 95-98 percentiles on standardized testing, Science Fair awards, etc.) Quite a few students, with similar grades, from my school have been accepted into biomedical engineering at UT, if thats relevant.

Also, can I take classes required for the biomedical engineering degree this fall without formally being in the program? For instance, will I be allowed to take

BME 102L, Introduction to Biomedical Engineering Laboratory and
BME 303, Introduction to Computing and take

E E 319K, Introduction to Embedded Systems in the spring?
