Transferring from Oxford to Goizuta

I was accepted to Oxford College of Emory and am planning on transferring to Goizueta after the 2 years at Oxford. I am wondering how hard it is to transfer from Oxford to Goizueta?

It’s not really a transfer. I think you just apply. I don’t know a single person here who was rejected (but I don’t know any Oxford people in Goizueta now that I think about it). I’m pretty sure it’s pretty easy though as long as you don’t mess around your entire time at Oxford.

I don’t know about that. I’m not a student at Emory or anything but from searching around on various college sites that have reviews by current and past students, it seems that it’s difficult to transfer into Goizuta from Oxford. The business school does take students from Oxford into it but I don’t know at how high of a rate. I read an account of one girl that went to Oxford and maintained a 3.4 GPA but come junior year when it was time to go into one of Emory programs, she wasn’t accepted into Goizuta and had to go into the nursing school.

Again, I’m not a student or anything but that’s what I heard. I also was accepted into Oxford but want to get into Goizuta. It’s been a bit difficult finding Oxford student accounts who are now in Goizuta so I’ve been a bit wary too.

I’m curious though, what’s you feeling about Oxford? When I found out about my acceptance, I was a skeptical about how difficult it would be to transfer into Goizuta. I’d really like to hear others opinions.

same doubts…
It would be great if anyone from oxford can share their experience…XD

I wouldn’t say that Oxford students have a lower chance of getting into Goizueta. It’s easier to get leadership positions at Oxford (which the business school really values), but you still need something near the B-school’s average (GPA: 3.6), and Oxford is academically rigorous–more so than the Druid Hills campus.

and Oxford is academically rigorous–more so than the Druid Hills campus.

rigorous? sure. more than here? no it’s not.

Obviously I haven’t taken courses at both campuses, but the overwhelming majority of comments we receive from Oxford continuees are that the classes at main campus are easier: because the classes are larger, the classes are more structured, rely on more standardized assessments, and rely less on written assessments.

A common sentiment among Oxford students is that they’ll wait to take many courses after leaving Oxford, because they’re significantly easier at the College of Arts and Sciences.

Usually, classes on the main campus junior and senior year are small (maybe not compared to Oxford) and like 20 people max.
I’m not going to argue this because it’s so subjective… But I think that the reason the College seems easier is that people start focusing on upper level classes for their major junior and senior year (which are sometimes curved and students are naturally better at because it’s their major).

Whether Oxford classes are harder/easier for Oxford students than Emory classes are for Emory students doesn’t really tell you anything.

Those who want to transfer to Goizueta will have to complete the Goizueta pre-reqs, and Goizueta will be able to compare grades in those classes.

Hi, everyone. I’m a current student at Emory - just to clarify, Oxford has basically the same course selection as Emory for freshman/sophomore classes, including for B-school prerequisites. So yes, you can definitely go to Oxford and then Goizueta, and many Oxford students do!
