Transferring from UCR to Cal State?

I am currently a dorming freshmen at UCR pursuing a Psychology major. Admittedly, I dislike UCR and everything that comes with it. The Academics are not the problem, it is the school that I cannot see myself living in for another three years. I know some people may say to stick it through, but I know that I will succeed, regardless of the school I go to. I would like to commute to CSULB (I live 10 minutes from there), but I am unsure of the process and/or difficulty of transferring from a UC to a CSU.

If I may add, I have 61 community college credits/units that I completed during high school. Technically, UCR recognizes me as a Sophomore.

I would like to know what is best to do in this situation (transferring from UCR to CSULB with 61 CC units)

Thank you all!

All you can do is apply right now. I’m not sure how it’ll go but I’m assuming you could get in if you have a high enough GPA. The credits isn’t the problem so that wouldn’t hold you back. Only thing is if you withdraw from UCR now, then you’d miss a semester from school. I don’t think schools like to see that, so I’d apply for Fall 2014 NOW but stay in UCR to finish the year off. Also talk to a counselor at CSULB to see how many credits from your high school will transfer to CSULB.
