Transferring High Schools Senior Year

hey everyone i have a question

If i was to transfer high schools to a more prestige high school my senior year, will it affect my chances of getting into a university ?

Thank you

I wouldn't recommend it. Going to a more prestigious high school doesn't raise your chances of admission - it just raises the adcom's expectations for you. If you switch schools senior year, you will also miss out on potential leadership positions in clubs and won't be able to get a good recommendation from anyone at your new school, since they won't know you well.

ok thanks for the advice

I don't think that it is a good idea, for many reasons. One, when you transfer to a new school, you are often placed last on class rank. This will hurt your chances for many scholarships that require you to be in the top 10%, etc. Secondly, college applications and scholarship stuff can be stressful enough. You don't want to have to adjust to new setting while your going through this. Besides, you'll want your friends to be with you through the whole process.
