My girlfriend, who is in 10th grade, is thinking of transferring schools again. She started at one of the worst schools in the 9th grade and was miserable but had a 91 avg. For 10th grade she transferred to a pretty good school but one that was much further away and her avg dropped to an 85. She is thinking of transferring again but to one of the best schools in New York City. Should she do it? How will this look for colleges?

Hi. Actually I think im in the same situation - im going to a not so good school (10th grade), no extras, far from my home, lazy peers etc., so i went to fulbrights comission (scholarhips to us schools - coz im foreigner) and asked about it. Their advisor told me that its ok, if you have the classes which are required by the college you are applying for. so i think its fine - to have better opportunities must be always better than stay at boring, not challenging school. If about the second transferring, I spoke about somethink like that with our schools psychologist and she said that if i will be changing schools to better ones its fine, and i think so. Btw doesnt she want to spend a year abroad?

i transfered high schools, and it wasnt fun- see my thread in High School Life

She had no friends that she knew from middle school at the previous high school and her current high school. SHe wants to transfer to one of the best schools in NYC and where she has a lot of friends already because of me and her middle school friends.

Where does she want to tranfer to? Where is she transferring from? That could really help her decision...
