Transferring in as a Junior

Hello! I’m very nervous about my transfer application and I was wondering if any past admits who have transferred into Penn as a JUNIOR could share their stats/ECs? I have scoured the past threads but couldn’t find any organized details about this. Or does anyone have any statistics about Penn’s junior transfer admit rate? I know they have fewer spots, but there must be fewer applicants as well, so is the acceptance rate higher or lower than for soph transfers? What kind of applicants do they most likely accept for junior transfers? Thanks guys!

Also applying to transfer as a junior, and would love to know any information!

bump! Anyone have any insight?

bump. please?

The year I transferred there were maybe <150 transfers in total (the FB says more but that’s bc it includes transfers from previous years) and around 40 or so were juniors. A lot of the people I know regardless of standing had above a 3.8, with a wider variance of test scores (it seems to be less emphasis was placed on these) and many people I know told me they wrote their essays to include specific Penn resources they needed to fulfill academic or career goals.

@YonceKnowles wow, thank you so much for the info! This is the kind of thing i was interested in hearing. Ahh so nervous! do u have any idea on the acceptance rate specifically for junior transfers?

@pennapplicant TBH it’s interesting bc I hear different numbers for acceptance rate, some sites say 10% while others are closer to 8% or lower. So I’d imagine its in that range. The number of matriculants my year was like 120-140ish. There was a group chat for the junior transfers which had like 40 people or so. So obviously there will be more sophomore transfers, but I imagine being a junior transfer should not be a disadvantage (ie, have a much lower acceptance rate). Since you apply by school, I imagine it’s the Wharton transfers who have it the toughest (my year had 13 transfer matriculants, but unsure of how many who applied).
