Hey,
I’m currently a student at Haverford College, and while I have generally had an enjoyable experience thus far, I feel as though I’d have much greater academic opportunities at Penn. I’ve also been a bit turned off by just how rampant extreme political correctness is on this campus, which creates a tense environment I’m not fully comfortable in. I don’t think I would’ve gotten into Penn coming out of high school; I had a 31 on the ACT and a 3.8 GPA with moderate course rigor (4 APs). My first semester of college, I anticipate also ending with around a 3.8 GPA. Obviously transferring into Penn is remarkably hard, but is it worthwhile submitting a transfer app with my stats? It also might help that I have some familial connections to Penn (not legacy, but my uncle has been a professor there for around 30 years and I have numerous extended family members that have attended).
TLDR; 3.8 high school GPA with 31 on the ACT and 3.8 college GPA at top 15 LAC; worth submitting a transfer app to Penn?
