Hello, so I am currently at West Chester University of PA and just finished my first semester.

-College gpa: 3.56 (15 credits)
-High School gpa: 3.3
-not sending sat scores
-decent extracurriculars

I am applying to transfer to Rutgers- New Brunswick to the Schools of Arts and Sciences and Environmental and Biological Sciences. My application will be sent tonight for the Fall of 2011.

I would say that your chances are pretty good. Rutgers won’t really weigh your high school GPA if you have completed 30+ credits so this might weaken your chances a bit. Your college GPA is very good and that is what rutgers look at the most.

By the way my brother is also applying as a transfer from brookdale community college. He has 40+ credits and an associate degree by the time he will enroll for fall 2011. His college GPA is 3.8 and his high school stats are similar to yours. No SAT scores.
He applied back in november to SAS new brunswick, NB business school, and Newark Business. He is an accounting major and his first choice is NB business school. He has not heard anything till this day.

We should definitely keep each other posted.

I think that would be a great idea. Thanks for the chance too. I was actually expecting a 3.6 or 3.66 this semester and it was an unpleasant surprise that it dipped below a 3.6. I really hope i can get in… Good luck to your brother too, hope he hears back soon!

I have almost the same stats, from what I’ve heard we should be in. I would look at last years official transfer decisions (on these boards!) and see that most people above a 3.0gpa get in :)

Ya keep it up and if what u want to do just take key classes. Gpa fluxes 3.3s a .6s are just a b borderliners that still get into great schools. I think rutgers enviromental programs rock.

I also applied to Rutgers for fall semester 2011. Constantly checking if i got in or not lol, the suspense is killing me.
My info
Transferring from a community college 1st year and for my first semester I got a 3.75 gpa
but in high school my average was a 3.1

Dont have any extracurricular activities besides working as a tutor.

What do you guys think my chances are?

I will update if i was accepted or denied but i dont think they make their decision for a while.

Good luck yanksfan41805 let me know your status.

Your GPA is good but you only have 1 semester worth of credits so they will weigh your high school record a lot.
The deadline is on february 1st so we won’t hear anything at least until then.

I applied to Rutgers-New Brunswick SAS for Fall 2011.

I got a 3.72 GPA from High School, and 3.52 from college + 75 Credits. No SAT required for me.

I don’t think most my credits will transfer, and I also have 2 F’s, although I repeated one of the classes and got an A, I waited too long to drop the class, and so they gave me an F, same thing happened in both instances. I’m repeating the other class this term and I expect an A.

I was part of the National Honor Society, and also other organizations in HS, and have few Community Service hours. I think I might not get in because of the F’s and repeating the classes, but if I don’t get in, I will re-apply, possibly with a higher college GPA, and more Community Service hours, along with letters of recommendation.

If anyone could tell me if I have any chances of getting in, that would be great.

I hope so, I was actually admitted into Rutgers-NB SAS back in 2008 (Astronomy & Physics), but I was right out of High School. I still have the letter of admission they sent me, and even the ID Card, since I even took the placement tests and registered for classes. But had to leave due to other circumstances…

I really screwed in college, but it was not completely my fault, I didn’t go to the class because it said Times to be announced on the schedule and they never did post them, so I never visited the lab and got an F twice!, they probably think I cannot perform well, but in reality I never took the classes.

I also applied to Rutgers NB for fall 2011.
I’m currently going to a community college and I have a 3.6 gpa with 50 credits.
I already heard from Camden and they accepted me.
I’m just waiting for NB
And this waiting is making me nervous!
Do you guys think I have a chance of getting in?
