I am currently attending UT Dallas. I went to high school in AZ and decided to move with the family to TX in Mckinney. I commute to UT Dallas and the school is alright, but it's not what I was really expecting. I heard a lot about UT Austin and the school sparked my interest. I plan to finish this year at UTD but are my chances of transferring to UT Austin any good? I'll have at least 30 credit hours by the end of the year along with at least (I hope) a 3.4+ GPA. I barely have a scholarship from UTD so it's not a problem to consider in leaving. UT is the only school in TX I'm interested in transferring to. I would love to go to my home state CA, but the chances are slim :(. Thanks guys.

in the spring transfer thread you will see that people have been admitted with a 3.4 so it is definitely possible. Just apply to liberal arts, natural sciences, geosciences, social work, performing arts, education… basically any school except engineering, business and architecture

someone in the “I got in… how is this possible?!” thread also got in with ~ 3.4
