I’m dual enrolled and will be graduating with my AA and high school diploma this spring.I want to go to university Miami but my chances are low if I apply now with a freshman application. So I’m wondering if I graduate high school with my 60 credits (from dual enrollment), then take 4 classes over the summer (not dual enrolled) could I apply as a transfer student with the transfer application? If I did it this way would I get in the same as when students stay two years to get their AA after they graduate high school. I would much rather apply with the transfer application cause my high school grades weren’t good but I’m doing really when with my college courses. Also, if I apply over summer, will I still be able to attend for fall 2017?
I live in Florida and want to go to a Florida school, but I know getting your AA from dual enrollment isn’t the same as getting your AA after high school. Basically I’m asking if I take 4 classes after I graduate high school could I get into any Florida school.
Can someone please help
You can get into any school with an AA from Dual enrollment. Why do you think that’s not likely in your case?
If you apply as a college junior (as a local CC transfer student) and not as a HS freshman, the admission process is different. You may find it’s harder to get into some programs, or easier. It’s really based on your major, the college you’re applying too, your grades and test scores.
Good Luck!
I’ve heard of some students applying even though they have their AA and still not getting accepted. So just to be safe I would like to apply as a transfer but could I do that?
You should apply as a HS student. If you get denied, then take some colleges classes for a semester or two and re-apply as a transfer student.
