I came to NYU to play sports and I also loved it on my visit. As school began, I quickly realized that this wasn’t the school for me for a multitude of reasons. The only problem is that school has been extremely challenging for me and in the first semester I will probably end up with something around a 3.0. I plan on really locking in the 2nd semester and hope to get my cumulative GPA around a 3.4 but as a freshman transfer do schools even look at my 2nd semester grades? I have a solid ACT at 31 as well as solid high school GPA. I also have very good extra curricular activities including a lot of community service done. As an african American male what would you say my chances of transferring to a USC, Michigan, or UCLA?
No chance at UCLA, since they will not accept a Freshman/Sophomore Level transfer. UCLA accepts Junior level transfers with 60 semester/90 quarter units. If you plan to transfer to UCLA, HS grades and test scores are not considered only your college GPA, EC’s and personal insight essays.
