I'm in a weird spot right now and I'm not sure what to do. By the end of this semester I'll have 19 credits (obviously short of the 24 considered finishing freshman year), but I'll be taking ~12 credits in the summer too, leaving me around 30-31. I want to transfer for the fall though, and I don't know whether I should bother if I only have 19 credits, even though I can probably mention somewhere on the application that I'll have 30 by the time fall rolls around.

I've been out of school for 7 years now after joining the Air Force, so some colleges/universities don't require SATs after that long a period of time (though I'm sure it would help), and I could probably write a hell of an essay, but the other options are to finish my associates and then transfer or try to transfer in the winter semester.

Do I have a better shot at transferring in the winter after the 30 credits are accounted for, or do I go ahead and try to apply for fall with a bit of a handicap? Either way I'll be trying to find some letters of recommendation and will probably be starting my essays this month, giving me ample time.
