Transferring SOON, quick questions!

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I was feeling confident about this place for the answers. But anyways I'm currently in a cc in an engineering pathway program and my main college that I am wanting to transfer to is UCONN. I have about three more courses to take to get my AS in Engineering Science. I want to go into CE but debating if i should go to EE cause I don't want to do alot of programming but I still want to work with computers. But thats another thing. My main concern is if a college like UCONN is going to look at the classes that I took to get that AS Engineering Science Pathway to UCONN and calculate the GPA from those courses? or even if i took a precalc which was a prereq, are they going to look at all of the courses i have taken over the years and at my cumulative GPA? :( I'm scared because currently my gpa is going to be a 2.7 or possibility a 2.8 when I graduate from the CC and transfer.

Yes. They will look at all of your courses and use your accumulative GPA.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, because your in the Engineering Science program, which I kind of wish I would have done, then you would be guaranteed admission into UCONN but there might be a GPA stipulation im unaware of right now. But look below.

"The “Engineering Science Pathway” consists primarily of coursework in engineering, mathematics, and the sciences. In addition to the 65-credit core of courses shown below, a grade average of “B” with no grade less than a “C” is required for continuation at UConn’s School of Engineering, or University of New Haven. "

There’s the answer!

thank you! yea I’m just so worried about my GPA if they’re gonna look at the classes in the program or all of my classes I’ve taken from day one at my CC.

Have you heard of an ACES program at uconn ? Im assuming they put you on a waiting list or something and you take a class or semester at a regional campus at uconn and then they will see if your able to be in the engineering school?

No I haven’t heard of the ACES program. I’m also in the process of transferring to UCONN but I’m enrolled pursing a Nuclear Engineering Technology degree.

From what the dean of engineering said, the engineering science degree applicants are “guaranteed” a spot and that they are considered in a different pile from the applicants who aren’t in the program. So in my case, I have to compete against every other applicant.

As far as taking a class at a regional class, from my knowledge, I assume UCONN will TELL you that you will be taking the courses at a regional campus if you aren’t ready for the Storrs campus.

I wish I knew a bit more but UCONN is tricky.

Nice i never heard of nuclear engineering!
I will probably contact an advisor more about it!
