So I’m currently studying at a 4 university in Arizona, however, I am a California resident. Majoring in education, I realized it would be so much better to do my last 2 years/student teaching in California and get my license there (also considering that they changed the prerequisites for Arizona education and it isn’t the same in California). Although it is pretty early into the school year, I have decided I wanted to transfer back to SoCal and attend a UC (after finishing my units of course). I read that it’s a lot harder for out of state kids to get accepted into a UC, but most of them have been non California residents, I wonder if it would be any different for me since I was originally from Cali?
I also decided to go to school in Arizona because they offered me lots of a financial aid and scholarships, if I didn’t receive all that $$$, I would’ve just stuck to a school in LA. Also what advice would you give me? Some have suggested that I just go to a community college in LA my sophomore year and then transfer to a UC since CC students are priority??? I think lol. I’ve also talked to my counselor and he’s only familiar with the arizona school system. I just wanted to hear some opinions before going to a different counselor.
Here are my current options in schools: UCLA, UCI, UCSD. I’m also considering a couple cal states as safe schools: cal state long beach, cal poly pomona, cal state san marcos, and san diego state.
Thank you so much in advance!
