I am a junior in high school and my grades are not the greatest (3.5 GPA 1900 SAT).
I want to major in business management. My dream UC is Berkeley but I am afraid I will not get in. If I am not accepted should I go to a Community College and transfer? I heard that UC's give CC student priority. Is this true? What should I do? Can an experienced person shed light on my dilemma? Thank you.

CC’s do have priority BUT UCLA, UCB, and UCSD do not have TAG so you’d still have to maintain a high GPA throughout your community college years. Although this is doable, many people tend to become unmotivated or slack off during their CC years. Do not let this discourage you but having your mind set on one school only can cause you to miss opportunities. You also have to consider cost. If you can’t pay for it for four years you can save lots of money by going to a CC. You just miss out on some college experience. Just a little something to think about.

I myself do not have amazing stats. However, I’ve already put my mind on AFROTC so if I do not get into UCSD, UCD or UCI, I can always consider CPP or whatnot. Remember, there’s a lot of business schools out there too! Good luck!
