Transferring to ASU

Hello, my name is Byron Ashley. I am thinking of transferring to ASU in the fall 2015. As someone coming from out of state I’m a little worried about making friends. Anyone have an opinion on a good way to meet people or how easy it is to make friends? Would you generally consider the people at ASU nice? Also, is ASU a fun campus, even if you aren’t in greek life? Thank You.

@ByronAshley21 I am a parent so I don’t have any personal experience, but I have been on campus many times and know quite a few kids that go there. My impression is that ASU is a very friendly campus with tons of things to do.

My oldest son’s experience as a freshman at Texas A&M is like yours in reverse. He is from Arizona and only 3% of A&M students are from out of state. Many students already have many friends from high school that they hang with. But Texans, like Arizonans, are very friendly, so it has not been too difficult. I recommend that you do like my son did and join a couple of clubs that interest you. It’s a great way to meet other students. https://eoss.asu.edu/clubs

Study groups also serve two purposes: learning and meeting new people.

im also thinking of SMU as well

Hey Ashley, I am also thinking about transferring to ASU. What program did you apply to? I am a business major and Im not sure if I will be able to get in.
