Transferring to BU/Transfer Process

I am currently at a state school and I feel that I made a huge mistake going to this school and I want to transfer to BU or some other school next year. I was already accepted into BU when I first applied to colleges.

Some of my stats will be posted here, but for a more in-depth analysis of my situation, please message me.

GPA: 3.9
Rank: Top 10
SAT: Over 2000
College grades:
Mostly As

Do you think I can get into BU again?

What could I get into if BU is too low for me? Also, what is included in the transferring process? Like are extracurriculars in college counted? What should I be writing for the essay for the reason why I want to transfer?

Well, most top schools want 2 recommendation letters (preferably college professors), an essay. What are your college stats? Typically, colleges are harder to transfer into. I still think you’d get into BU, but I don’t know it it’d be “too low”.
If you didn’t get into a school when you first applied, don’t count on getting in (especially because you already had a high HS GPA).
I mean, don’t apply to a school just because it’s the best school you can get into. You should be happy there.

I haven’t gotten any grades back for my first semester. However, I want to make sure that I assure that I can get into BU for next year, even though I was accepted once. I can probably get into better schools than BU, but I think it would make me the happiest to go there.

What kind of grades do you think I would need to get back into BU?

I believe you need ~3.5.

Since I got in once, will I definitely get back in again? I am so worried I won’t get in again. :(

BU has a very high transfer acceptance rate. Don’t worry too much if your grades are “mostly As”

Thanks for your help itransferred11! Does anyone else have any info about this?

Bringing this up again. Also, I don’t have very many credits this semester, but I have transfer credit that counts toward my first semester. Would that be enough credits to transfer over to BU?

Anyone have any advice?

I haven’t really looked into it too much but I believe all you need is 12 units to apply for transfer to Boston University. So I guess if you have at least 12 transferable units you can apply.

Is there a strong chance that I will be able to get in again?

Anyone? Will I get in again?

Relax. Just apply, you probably will if you made all A’s.

I’m sure you will be fine. My friend got into BU with a 3.4 gpa from high school, but opted for Community College because it was too expensive. Two years later, she applied with a 3.7 gpa and got in. She is now attending BU.

People here are adverse to guarantees, but I will guarantee you Boston University will accept you once again. Applying again after already being accepted shows you genuinely want to go to Boston.

Relax man, it’s BU. As long as you have the $$$ you’re a step in.
