I’m having some trouble deciding on where to go for my major. I’m transferring, so I will graduate in two years. I’m hoping to go into the accounting field.
I only applied to universities in California, and some schools I’m having a hard time deciding between are:
Cal Poly SLO for econ(acct concentration) - great campus scenery, friendly people, but didn’t feel at home.
UCSC - loved the forest and mild weather, nice buildings. people generally nice. close to home. has accounting emphasis.
UCD - great atmosphere, would probably go here if I were a science major. my kind of people everywhere. con: hot weather and so spread out. unsure about managerial economics major success and reputation.
UCSD - haven’t visited yet, but so far I’ve been impressed by its location and campus layout. heard econ program is pretty good. has accounting minor. i know it’s known for science, but i don’t mind it.
USC - haven’t visited yet, but I know they are right behind Cal as far as business programs go. Cons: Expensive and far from home.
Santa Clara U - good business program, but also expensive. No need to pay room/board since I would stay at home. small class sizes.
Please let me know if you have any information that could help me make a decision! I recently visited SLO and UCSC, and I’ll be visiting the rest of the schools within the next month.
I also encourage follow up questions!
