I'm not sure how this works, how much of a chance, etc. I applied ED this year and was first deferred (later rejected), but it still remains one of my top choices. I'll be attending Wellesley next year, but I'd still like to attempt to transfer. Any advice? Recommendations? Retaking SATs? What do they look at for transfer applicants? Oh and also, would there be a difference between transfering to FU or CC? I'm an anticipated Bio major, so would there be a problem if i wanted to do BME at FU?

BME is going to be a hell of a lot harder than Bio at CC. Apply to the school you want to go to, not the one you think you have a better chance at.

more work does not necessarily mean harder.

however, i will agree with your apply to the school you want to be in comment, that's right on the money

Why don't you see if you like your school, try to be positive about it, try to make friends, try to get good grades (which you'll need to transfer anyway), etc. It's not as if you're going to some horrible school and need to "upgrade." Chances are you won't even think about Columbia by October.
