Transferring to Columbia? Thinking about it

Hey guys. I'm currently going to West Point, which is one of the best colleges in the world. I just started school, and I am a class of 2012. I was just curious. Has anyone from West Point transferred to Columbia with full scholarship or ROTC scholarship? I know many people who did transfer there, but I don't know about scholarship part.

I know you are probably like '***, hes going to west point and he wants to transfer to Columbia?

Well Columbia doesn't have ROTC but I don't know how that affects an ROTC scholarship. I'd assume that you'd have to be in ROTC to get it.

If you have a ROTC scholarship, you fulfill your service at a different college that has a ROTC program (Army, I'm assuming) and take your classes at Columbia

Columbia has a ROTC program. you do the ROTC portion of the deal up at Fordham. Many CU undergrads do ROTC.

okay, not many, but like a dozen or so.

I don't know anyone who's transferred from West Point. But then again I knew very few transfers - only a handful are taken each year, because only a handful of students leave each year.

I'm surprised you want to leave West Point. can you explain that a little more?

Ditto Denzera's query. If you're class of 2012, does that mean you just started this month? If so, give it time before you think about this.

West Point started at the end of June. Honestly, peteyflow, I'm sure Beast is nothing like what West Point actually is; it's just torturous hazing. You should at least try the classes and the other activities before even seriously considering transferring.
