Transferring to Ivy League

Hey everyone,

So I will be a sophomore at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, with a declared major of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development. I am looking to apply as a transfer to Harvard primarily because of my desire to work with a specific professor as an undergraduate researcher in biomedical gerontology there. I am just wondering what my current prospective chances look like at the moment?

Here are my stats:

3.15 GPA (high school)
3.75 GPA unweighted (Undergraduate)
2250 on SAT (taken in my senior year of high school)
Major: Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development

Extracurriculars/Sports:

  • Prospective Olympic track pursuit cyclist for Team USA at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020.
  • Professionally sponsored road cyclist for a UCI Continental Team in the United States.
  • Baritone singer in one of my college's a cappella groups.
  • Conducting independent research into the applications of biotechnology in gerontology.
  • I have started, own, and operate a independent bicycle repair and maintenance shop. (Minneapolis is filled with cyclists)

Other things about me:

  • Even though I'm a professionally sponsored road cyclist, and own and operate a bike shop, I make on the lower end of 50k a year.
  • First-generation college student. (My parents were refugees)
  • I come from a unrepresented minority population from Southeast Asia.

So… chance me. Please?

Other explanations:

  • In high school I struggled primarily because of my inability to obtain access to medical care to help me manage and treat my ADD, anxiety, and depression. I also worked full-time during high school.

Thanks
