Transferring to Parsons

Hey everyone,

I'm a transfer student coming from a 4 year university. I originally started in a community college (for forensics) and maintained a 3.0-3.5 the entire time. I switched to a 4 year university for a major in Chemistry, and found out soon that I wasn't truly doing what I wanted to. My gpa while taking courses at the school were a 2.1-2.3 and I took a semester off due to academic probation. I know that my heart is in fashion, specifically styling or buying and I wanted to know my chances of getting into FIT or Parsons.

Thanks!

i’m not that familiar with art/fashion schools so don’t take my word for this, but my friends who do attend art/fashion schools tell me the portfolio is everything.

Well I hope you have your portfolio set for it. I know that when I applied for FIT (accepted for fine arts) I looked at the Fashion requirements and you needed alot of things like a Sewing Test, Design Test , a Written Essay and of course your portfolio of the stuff you made which consist of 15+ items. Portfolio matters. And for Parsons, well just think about it as FIT but a bit harder.
