Hi, everyone. I am attending a California community college right now and I just recently thought about transferring to Purdue as a civil engineering major. I really don't know much about how the transferring system works for this school since I've only been preparing to transfer to a UC. Is it hard to transfer into this school? I read on their website and saw that you only need about 24 units to transfer, which is way less than the UC requirements. If I apply for the fall term (which I would really prefer), would they still let me take a class or two over the summer before that term, because I would have to take a chemistry class over the summer. Do you need a whole bunch of volunteer hours? Do they still require letters of reccomendations? Also, would I be considered a junior or a sophomore when i transfer in? Please give as much feedback as possible, since I would really like to get into this school if I have the chance. I know how prestigious it is in the engineering field.

Is there anyone willing to reply? I’ve had over a hundred views and so no one has bothered to say anything.

It’s all here.

Thanks for the reply, but I’ve already visited their site and it didn’t help me too much. What I really want to know are a few things: Will I be considered a sophomore or junior if I transfer with 24 units, and if it is really competitive to get in as a civil engineering major? What gpa should I maintain if I want my acceptance ensured?
