Transferring to UC Berkeley ECON or BUSINESS?

I am applying to UC Berkeley this November for Fall 2014. My initial intended major Econ, then Business Administration, but i doubt I have a chance, so I went back go to Econ. Since I haven't taken the prepreqs yet because I was still undecided in my earlier years, and didn't plan well. I'll be transferring from a CCC.
UC Transferrable GPA - 3.81
overall - 3. 65 (got unlucky with the Trig professor, the girl that I know that got A's in her exam still got a B)
For Econ prepreq - Currently taking Calc1, then Calc2 and Microecon this Spring. Already took Macroecon
IGETC- done
EC - not that much, since I work 40hours a week, for 3years now, and taking 12units. I provide for my family, like literally half or more of my paycheck goes to them. But just recently been a member of Phi Theta Kappa and attending activities that I can

But my case is still complicated since I was from the Philippines, I went to college there for 3 years, but didn't get a degree since I had to move here. My grades there were terrible (typical university-dorm-life-teen-student) then I just got serious with school here. Not sure how to convert GPA since it's numerical and not letter grade.Although I do have a lot of ECs from there if they will count that. I was in a sorority and academic organization. I did a lot of community works, such as Medical Missions every year (I was a member for 3 years too, so all the activities are done annually), Visits to Home for the aged; we also take the unfortunate kids out to places and feed them; exhibits etc basically, we cater all members of the comumunity, inside and outside the university. With my major too, there, our goal is to educate people, so I really did a lot of community/field works through my major. As a member of the sorority, I was like in the executive committe, the Business head for 2 years. I basically plan/ conduct income generating activities for the sorority.

Do I have chances if I do not include my Philippine ECs? how will I improve my chances?

The GPA which Haas looks at is supposedly just your overall–the woman who did an online seminar said that they just use whatever GPA appears on your college’s transcript, so they don’t adjust it at all. With a 3.65, unless you’re feeling edgy and really, really, really want Haas, I think that you should go for Econ; the average accepted GPA of Haas applicants is around a 3.8 or so. Put in your application your activities in the Philippines.

^They’re not going to consider his 3.65 GPA. They’re going to look at his transferable GPA which is 3.81.
