Transferring to UC schools

I am planning on attending San Diego State University for my freshman and sophomore year and planning on transferring to UC Berkeley to attend Haas, their undergrad business program.
I know most transfers are from community college, but my questions are:
1. Are SDSU courses transferable to Berkeley? Or do any of you know where I can find information on this?
2. SDSU has an undergrad business program as well, but I'm thinking Haas will give me more job opportunities after I graduate. Do you guys have any input or advice?

I know I have about 2 more years to think about it, but I want to think about what kind of courses/classes I will take in SDSU so I am more prepared for Haas.

Thank you.

I suggest you go straight to CC and work hard. You will likely not get into Haas from SDSU.
And yeah, Haas will give you many more job opportunities.

But If you already made up your mind, look for any articulation agreements. Someone else will be able to help u more with this

^Yep, definitely go to a community college instead of SDSU if you’re set on transferring.

If you don’t mind me asking, how is going to a community college going to help one’s chances for a transfer to UC?

California community college students get top priority as junior transfers to UC’s. That’s how the system is set up under the California Master Plan for Higher Education. The reasoning is that CSU students already have an opportunity to graduate with a BA - community college students don’t.

six words: California Master Plan for Higher Education

Thank you all for the replies, I appreciate them.

So I guess I am pretty much down to two choices:

 1. Go to a community college to have the best chance on getting into Haas.
 2. Go to SDSU and just do their business program.

If you guys don’t mind, I have a few more questions.

 1. I know SDSU isn’t as great as Haas, but do you guys think it’s still a good enough program to have a chance in getting hired at top companies, banks, etc.?
 2. Which one would you guys say has the better program: the SDSU or San Francisco State University undergrad business program? I heard that SFSU is actually a nice undergrad business school.

Thanks again.

To be quite honest, going to either will probably not get you what you want. You need to at least go to a UC for a chance at the top firms. You could also apply to bus. econ. at UCLA and Biz at UCI and have a chance to reapply to a top private. Look into economics too.

But again, to answer ur question i heard SDSU had a better program

For any of the UC’s you’d have to have a GPA of 3.9+ so if you can’t do that I say you stay at SDSU.
