I just called admissions and just because we can log in they said that it means NOTHING. If our BU brain status is not updated then our application has not been reviewed yet and we did not necessarily get in. As much sense as this does not make, this is what they are telling me.

If you can actually make a deposit, then what they said at the office of admissions is just nonsense, in my opinion. If you can pay a deposit, you must have been admitted. i think they just don’t like admitting that their system has this weird glitch that they have never fixed.

I agree. In addition, through the BU Brain Self Service system, it clearly states the following,

This implies, at least to me, that we will not know through the online system they were telling me to check. So to those who found out this week via the deposit area, they are sending mail to the students they accepted this week at some point later in the week. Understanding this, we will know very soon as to whether or not our assumptions are flawed.

I would suggest ignoring this info, probably a low=level admin type or a CYA approach for allowing this back door method to occur.
If you can “Pay Your Deposit”, you’re definitely in

yeah…pay your deposit means you’re in, they just don’t want to admit it lol

So if Binghamton University only sending out rejection letters now?
