When I visited Cornell, the tour guide said most transfers live off campus in Collegetown. She didn't seem to know about transfer living options on campus. To anyone who has transferred or wishes to transfer, which plan do you think is best?

According to the Cornell Daily Sun, transfers haven't been very happy with their living situations:

I’d definitely live off-campus. Try and get into a house during fall rush too.

When you say try and get into a house during fall rush do you mean a sorority house? I will be transferring as a junior.

most of the transfers i know live on west campus or cascadilla or sheldon court. only a small amount of unfortunate people gets put in Schuyler. when you fill out the housing form, you get to choose to live on west campus or collegetown dorms (cascadilla and sheldon court). if you want to get used to cornell and make friends fast, i suggest west because it has a big transfer community. collegetown dorms are more isolated (just 2 buildings near cascadilla gorge) but it’s in collegetown (more parties, restaurant food, etc) so it depends on what you like.

^ Thank you so much kiwilemon! Good advice
