transportation and sports tickets questions

While filling out my housing or registration, I noticed a spot to request season tickets to football and basketball. I didn't choose that option because at the time I didn't know I was going here. Now that I am sure that I am going here, I can't find where that option was to select the tickets. Does anyone know where to find that?

Also, what type of transporation options are there if we want to go into Indianapolis or Chicago? Are there busses/trains that run?
Thanks

Catch-a-ride, Bloomington shuttle and mega bus.

You can also take flight to/from Chicago to Indianapolis airport, then take bloomington shuttle to IU.

Thanks–good info and decent options

Now about those sports tickets…

I don’t remember the season tickets thing on the housing application, but you can still buy season tickets during Welcome Week. That’s what most people did at the beginning of this year, and there are a lot of incentives for people to buy them (free shirts, raffle tickets, etc) because IU sports are so bad and attendance for football games can be a joke. Just charge them to your bursar once you get to IU in the Fall. I guarantee they’ll still be available.

You can buy season tickets during orientation as well… you get a snazzy free t-shirt along with it.

Great I like snazzy t-shirts—sad to hear football games a joke. Do they get a poor turnout from students? No tailgating etc.?

^^^oh, there’s plenty of tailgating! Many just don’t bother to go inside the stadium for the game. At least try the student section out a few times. You might find it fun despite the score on the field. : )

Tailgating is HUGE and one of the best parts about football games. I’m sure with a new head coach next year there should be a decent turn out in games, especially once Big 10 play starts, since people will be interested in seeing whether or not we actually improve. We had a full house last fall for the Michigan game despite the rain and the Iowa game was pretty packed too. Their (smaller) fan section cheered louder than us though, which was kind of crappy. Still go to the games though, they are fun!

The basketball games are ** wayyyy ** more fun than the football games. And I’ve said this before, but we have 2012’s #2 recruiting class and we recruited a top player for 2011 so basketball is just going to get better and better. Except pre-gaming for basketball games in the dorm room doesn’t nearly contend with the epic football tailgates…

Thanks all–see you at the games?!!

Now it’s 2012’s #1 class.
