Ok, my summer registration date is on june 14, but i doubt i'll be getting a free ride, so does anybody know the train or buses to take?

It depends on where you live. For example, there is an Amtrak train station in Champaign/Urbana. It only costs $12 per ride on the train from Chicago Union Station to the Champaign/Urbana station. I think the specific train lines that run at this rate are the 393 Illini and the 391 Saluki.

There is also a Greyhound bus stop in Champaign.

Hi, I was wondering, so how does this summer registration thing work? Do I go there, choose my courses, get to know people and then leave? Or, do I bring everything, clothes, ipod, and other stuff with me, and just settle in?

well bring an ipod for the ride down but all you basically need is your wallet and a cell phone. pens are provided, at least they should be. you'll be sitting a lot and just listening to people talk. in at 9 AM out by 6 PM.

Cool. About the Amtrak, how long does it take? And when you arrive, do you arrived at walking distances to the registration place? And do you need to buy tickets prior? And is it like the CTA where you just wait for them to arrived, or are there a schedule?

According to tennisfan88, I be checking in at 9 and departing at 6.

So, I'll need to get on the train at about 6.

I just checked the Amtrak site, and it appears the earliest train on the 14th of June would leave Chicago at 9:15 and arrive in Champaign/Urbana at 11:25 am, so the train might not be an option for you, unless you went a day early. It is a 2 hour 10 minute train ride.

I have never ridden this train; I have just looked up the schedule online. I am not sure how close the station is to the school, but I know it is in downtown Champaign. I am assuming there is a bus from the station to where you want in the school...I know the bus system there is very good.

you take a bus from Illinois terminal to get to campus.yea, in general unless you're staying in a hotel overnight, the train is not an option.

I've checked with grey hound, and their schedules would allow me to arrive at 9:15 am. Do you think they will still allow my checking in being 15 min late?

Don't they have Suburban Express buses throughout the summer? I suggest taking those, highly affordable.
