Travel Reimbursement for Visiting?

Hey Everyone,

I might be naive, but I was wondering whether Johns Hopkins offers any reimbursement on travel expenses for visiting the campus once you have been accepted. I want to go visit the school, but my parents dont really want me to go on account of the traveling expenses.

Thanks.

Probably best to call. Haven’t heard of anything like that however.

well, I know they do if you got invited into the Discovery Days program
But this program is only for accepted minorities. Otherwise, they don’t reimburse
I wish they did because I was forced to go to Discovery Days (I couldn’t afford the trip otherwise) and I’m missing the district track meet! hahaha but this is way more important anyway
It was just a bummer hahaha

I know there are a few specific programs that include the cost of travel, but other than that, as far as I know, Hopkins doesn’t reimburse travel expenses. If you travel for an admitted open student house, you can stay with a student host to avoid the cost of a hotel. Other than that, have you presented it to your parents as wanting to spend a few hundred bucks to come visit the campus before deciding if it’s really the place you want to pay over $150,000 to attend over the next four years. Considering it that way, it’s really a small drop in the bucket to make sure you’re making the right choice.

Meh, my parents would prefer me to attend the local state school, so they are making things slightly difficult for me…
Hm, Discovery Days. I wonder if I got that. I remember getting something for minorities.
