Travel Study Costs with Financial Aid

Hello everyone, so I recently signed up for the UCLA travel study program. I paid the $300 non-refundable fee to reserve my spot. Today I found out that financial aid will not cover most of the travel study. Is is true that most of the program will be paid with loans?
According to the site it says the program WILL be covered by financial aid and it was not until today I found out that financial aid also means loans (which I do not want)

I just need insight on how much it will cost.
It says that the whole program will be about $4500.
About $2000 of that money will be for plane ticket and food/room.
I assume the remaining $2500 is tuition? Will at least this be covered?

I hear summer only give grants like Pell, I usually get nothing from them.
Now Im contemplating not going at all but I would lose the $300.

Anyone with previous experiences know about how much financial aid will cover in terms of tuition or even personal expenses? Any advice will be appreciated thanks.
