We are considering flying on a Thursday evening after school to a Friday audition, flying out after that audition to another school for a Saturday morning audition. Does this sound like too much for one weekend?

How long are the flights and are they routes that typically have delays?

I think that’s pushing it. I’d take my child out of school Thursday so you have plenty of time to make the Friday audition in case of delayed flights, etc. And you don’t really know when the Friday audition will end, so you may miss your connecting flight to a Saturday audition. And i you’re traveling anywhere near Northern climates you could run into snow, etc that could cause flight delays, cancellations, etc. So I’d do the Friday one and look for another date for the Saturday school. Any chance you could drive?

I actually think it sounds doable as long as you allow time for delays and rest. Could you change the Saturday morning one to Saturday afternoon?

They are pretty far apart location wise. If we do them on different weekends then we will drive. The Saturday one is an all day event so it begins fairly early. Maybe we should just separate the two…

I would separate them. Don’t know when you’ll finish Friday and odds are you’ll start early Saturday. Can you do one at Unifieds?

Yes we can do one at Unifieds or go in January. I was just trying to have a “kill two birds with one stone” weekend, but that probably isn’t the best way to look at it:) We are trying to get some auditions done before Christmas. Thanks for the help!

No problem, that’s what we’re all here for!

I think it depends on your kid’s temperament, previous audition experience, as well as your temperament for auditions and how well the two of you travel together.

My daughter and I set up similar schedules a couple of times, but we were typically driving to get to the second school. Is the Friday audition and all day affair? Many times, they will work it out so kids who need to catch flights can audition earlier and leave when done.

What are the 2 schools?

I would drive if possible.
There is just so much more control. We drove in circles around Michigan, Ohio. New York, Indiana and Illinois. It was so crazy but so much fun. I wouldn’t risk the flight delay possibilities.
