Traveling/NYC

I'm about to schedule and overnight visit sometime in late september early october and I'd like to know how I can get from NY to campus. Since it's during the week my parents can't drive me so public transportation it is. Is there a train station in NoHo or are there Greyhounds that go up there? What's best?

You can take the train in to Springfield and then walk over to the Peter Pan station, which has a bus to downtown Noho.

You can also take a bus from NYC, but you will most likely be stopping in Springfield... this is probably a cheaper way though.

You can also take the train into Amherst, and then find the PVTA and take it directly to Smith.

I would take the Peter Pan bus to Noho, it's very easy to change in Springfield, and sometimes there are direct five-college express buses from NYC or Boston.

The Amherst train, from what I understand, is not near enough to the PVTA bus that you want to lug your stuff out there.

Another option is to take the train from NYC to boston and then the bus to Northampton, but that may be more steps than it's worth.

wouldn't going to boston be really out of the way? i would just take the springfield one i guess. Thanks!

Forget taking the PVTA from Amherst - - spring for a cab (but avoid Valley Transporter which charges taxi fares w/o accommodating indiv schedules).
