<p>top of my head, (famous) civil/environmental/architecture engineers do travel somewhat. but i can't imagine engineers (right out of college) travel extensively.</p>

<p>Top researchers in any field get to enjoy quite a bit of traveling- it's one of the perks of being a professor.</p>
